Proton’s e.MAS range has crossed the 20,000-unit mark in Malaysia, giving Pro-NET a stronger foothold in the local EV and plug-in hybrid market.
The line-up recorded 20,509 cumulative registrations so far this year. April alone added 3,421 units, with the e.MAS 5 contributing 1,772 units and the e.MAS 7 adding 636 units.
The stronger performer is the e.MAS 7 PHEV, now Malaysia’s best-selling plug-in hybrid model in 2026 to date.
Since its launch in early February, it has recorded 1,755 registrations, including 1,013 units in April. Bookings have also passed 6,500 units.
The broader e.MAS total includes 10,067 units from the e.MAS 7 range and 8,687 units from the e.MAS 5.
That puts Proton in two different parts of the market: the e.MAS 5 as the more accessible EV, and the e.MAS 7 PHEV for buyers who want electric driving without giving up petrol range.
Pro-NET is also widening its support network. The e.MAS network now has 53 dealer operations nationwide, backed by 10 body and paint centres. The number of 3S centres is being expanded towards 40 locations.
That part cannot be treated as background noise. More registrations mean more owners needing servicing, repairs and charging guidance. For Proton e.MAS to keep its early momentum, the ownership experience has to catch up with the sales curve.
