Pro-NET will roll out Proton e.MAS-branded charging stations across Malaysia from the third quarter of 2026 through partnerships with DC Handal, JomCharge and chargEV.

The programme will start at a popular destination before expanding to other high-traffic public locations nationwide. Proton e.MAS owners who pay through the Proton e.MAS app will receive discounted charging rates at participating sites.

Pro-NET, which manages the Proton e.MAS electric vehicle brand, said the partnerships cover branding and marketing at selected charging locations as well as support for further charger deployment.

More than 4,700 charging points are already accessible through the Proton e.MAS app, which Pro-NET said covers over 90% of Malaysia. The same network is linked to the live charging map built into e.MAS vehicles.

The three charging point operators will continue to run their respective networks and provide customer support. Selected locations will carry e.MAS branding, giving Proton’s EV owners a more visible link between the app and the physical charging site.

Specific charging rates and commercial arrangements have yet to be announced. Pro-NET said these will be agreed separately with each operator.

Pro-NET chief executive officer Zhang Qiang said convenient public charging would become increasingly important as more Malaysians switch to electric vehicles.

He said the partnerships were intended to give e.MAS owners better access to chargers at locations they already use, while adding incentives through the brand’s app.

Head of Charging Ahmad Munif Halim said integrating charging access with the Proton e.MAS app would make the process simpler for owners while retaining access to the operators’ existing support channels.

Pro-NET also linked the programme to Malaysia’s localisation agenda, saying expansion of the charging network could create more opportunities for local vendors and industry players involved in EV infrastructure.

The company did not identify the first rollout location, disclose how many e.MAS-branded charging stations are planned in the initial phase, or announce the size of the charging discount.
