iCaur has shown the right-hand-drive V27 at Auto China 2026, giving a stronger signal that the boxy SUV is being prepared for markets such as Malaysia, Southeast Asia and Oceania.
The RHD V27 was presented in Beijing alongside the Robox concept car by iCaur CEO Dr Su Jun.
The pairing was meant to show two sides of the young Chery-linked brand: a production-bound export model and a more experimental design study.
iCaur’s own press statement said the V27 has been developed as a global model and meets five-star safety standards in China and Europe.
For Malaysia, the V27 is the more relevant car. The left-hand-drive version has already been introduced in China and the Middle East, where iCaur said it has received a positive market response.
The RHD version now points to the next phase, especially for countries where right-hand drive is required. iCaur Malaysia also framed the model as part of the brand’s push into the region.
The company has yet to release any Malaysia specifications in this announcement.
However, Malaysian reports claimed the V27 is expected here as a range-extender electric vehicle, or REEV, with previous figures pointing to up to 455PS and a claimed 210km CLTC electric range.
The Robox concept is the showier part of the display. Its name combines “robot” and “box”, while the design uses a one-box silhouette, raised ground clearance, split round and rectangular lighting, and a modular-looking cabin.
From the looks of it, iCaur seemed to be testing how far it can push the rugged boxy theme without turning it into a purely retro exercise.
Beyond the cars, iCaur also used the Beijing show to promote owner activities. It announced “The Grand Tour” exploration programme with China National Geographic, and a second season of its iCaur Player Carnival, which invites owners to submit customisation projects.
Selected builds are planned for display at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, United States.
The brand said it is now present in more than 40 countries and regions, with a longer-term plan to reach 100 countries and more than 2,000 sales and service centres by 2028.
