Alpine is closing its 70th anniversary programme with a short film that links the brand’s back catalogue to an electric next chapter, while putting the spotlight on the Alpine A110 R Ultime.
The video features commentary from Alpine’s leadership team, alongside appearances by BWT Alpine Formula One driver Pierre Gasly and former France football star Zinedine Zidane.
Alpine CEO Philippe Krief used the film to present the combustion engine A110 R Ultime as the final evolution of the current A110, positioning it as a tribute to the second-generation A110 and a signpost to what comes after.
“With the Alpine A110 R Ultime, we wanted to create a grand finale, worthy of the second generation A110,” Krief said. He also teased what is next for the model line, adding: “In the first six months of 2026, we will share some really exciting news.”
Gasly, meanwhile, talked about what he looks for in a road car, balancing comfort with the sharper responses he associates with racing.
“When I drive a road car, my expectations are focused on comfort. But as I’m a racing driver, I want to feel similar sensations to racing. I want precision as well as a car that looks good,” he said, confirming he has placed an order for the upcoming Alpine A390 electric car.
The film also nods to electric motorsport ambitions.
Gasly said he is interested in rallying, particularly in an electric competition car such as the Alpine A290 Rallye, developed at the new Hypertech Alpine engineering centre in Viry-Châtillon. Axel Plasse, Hypertech Alpine vice-president, also appears, sharing his enthusiasm for the A290 Rallye and its role in Alpine’s electric competition plans.
Alpine launched the A290, its first electric car, in 2024.
