Autoglym, the UK’s largest car care brand, has taken personal grooming into top gear by unveiling a quirky new range of body-care products inspired by its famous automotive formulas.
In celebration of its 60th anniversary, the brand promises that customers can now look as polished as their cars, thanks to four playful new products — though it’s all clearly part of an April Fool’s prank.
Leading the line-up is the Leather Care Face Balm, designed to nourish weather-beaten skin just as Autoglym has long protected car interiors.
For scent lovers, the Autoglym Cologne captures the unmistakable aroma of a showroom-fresh vehicle, with notes of factory-new mats and upholstery, all bottled in a cup-holder-friendly 250ml spray.
Completing the range is the Polar Wash Shower Gel, adapted from Autoglym’s popular car wash series, now repurposed for a human-friendly lather — no pressure washer required.
Meanwhile, the Bodywork Shampoo and Conditioner has been reimagined as a hair-care product, promising to bring back natural shine and make every rinse as swift and satisfying as a perfectly detailed car.
Dee Taylor, Head of Bodywork Formulations (Human Division), played along, saying that the company had worked tirelessly to bring its passion for car care to the human body, adding, “Who wouldn’t want to look as amazing as a freshly cleaned and polished car?”
While cleverly crafted, the tongue-in-cheek product range is all part of Autoglym’s light-hearted approach to mark six decades in the detailing business.
