The BMW iX has been facelifted for 2025 and now delivers enhanced performance and efficiency, offering up to 701 km of WLTP range and setting a benchmark among all-electric Sports Activity Vehicles.
Built at BMW’s Dingolfing plant, it arrives in spring 2025 in three versions: xDrive45, xDrive60 and M70 xDrive. All feature refined power electronics, improved battery cell technology, and electric all-wheel drive.
The xDrive45 now produces 300 kW (408 hp) for 0–100kph in 5.1 seconds. The xDrive60 generates 400 kW (544 hp) and does the sprint in 4.6 seconds. The top-level M70 xDrive delivers up to 485 kW (659 hp) in My Mode Sport, achieving 0–100kph in 3.8 seconds and a 250kph top speed.
Battery capacity is 94.8 kWh in the xDrive45, while xDrive60 and M70 feature around 109 kWh. Enhanced inverter technology reduces consumption by about eight percent in some conditions. The xDrive60’s range extends to 563–701km, the xDrive45 covers 490–602km and the M70 offers 521–600km.
DC charging reaches 175 kW in the xDrive45 and 195 kW in xDrive60 and M70. Adaptive battery pre-conditioning, heat pump integration, and optimised charging currents shorten charging times. AC charging is available at up to 22 kW, with Plug & Charge Multi Contract and solar-optimised home charging supported.
Updated styling includes a slimmer kidney grille frame. The BMW Iconic Glow grille is standard on M70 and optional elsewhere.
New headlights have vertical daytime running elements, and front and rear aprons feature more body-colour areas. An optional M Sport package adds prominent air intakes and vertical reflectors, with new paint finishes including Arctic Race Blue and Dune Grey.
Chassis revisions reflect increased output and modified weight distribution, featuring a hydraulic rear axle support bearing and tyres with reduced rolling resistance.
All models include Hill Descent Control and an option to deactivate Dynamic Stability Control. The M70 integrates adaptive two-axle air suspension, M-specific anti-roll bars, Integral Active Steering, and a sports brake system.
Standard driver assistance systems include Driving Assistant Plus with Active Cruise Control and Parking Assistant. The optional Highway Assistant enables hands-free driving up to 130kph, with lane changes activated by eye contact. Parking Assistant Professional supports manoeuvring via smartphone.
Inside, an M Sport package offers M multifunction seats, a two-tone instrument panel, and M pedals. Standard equipment includes adaptive LED headlights, Comfort Access, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, BMW Live Cockpit Professional, and Harman Kardon audio. BMW iDrive, based on Operating System 8.5, provides touchscreen and voice control, streaming, in-car gaming, and 5G connectivity.
A new route-planning interface in BMW Maps shows charging station availability, required charging times, and costs.
Users can specify preferred providers and desired charge levels on arrival. The refreshed iX targets major markets in the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany.
