GWM Malaysia has launched the WEY G9 Hi4 HEV luxury MPV at RM249,800, offering buyers a conventional hybrid alternative to the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version introduced earlier this year.
Priced RM20,000 below the RM269,800 PHEV, the seven-seater does not require external charging and offers a claimed NEDC driving range of up to 845km (676km WLTP estimate).
The HEV uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with GWM’s Hi4 intelligent all-wheel-drive hybrid system, producing a combined 358PS (263kW) and 782Nm of torque.
Fuel consumption is rated at 6.5 litres/100km under the NEDC testing cycle, which also underpins the claimed combined driving range.
The cabin retains a 2+2+3 seating arrangement, with Nappa leather upholstery for the first two rows, ventilated front and second-row seats, and 10-point massage functions for the driver and second-row passengers.
Second-row Zero Gravity captain seats feature electric leg rests and six-way adjustment.
Other comfort features include three-zone climate control, HALOSonic active noise cancellation and acoustic glass. Luggage capacity ranges from 233 to 1,725 litres.
The dashboard houses a 14.6-inch infotainment touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and head-up display, supported by wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
A 21-speaker audio system, 50-watt wireless phone charger, powered sliding doors and an electric tailgate are also standard.
Safety equipment includes six airbags, adaptive cruise control, lane centring assistance, blind spot detection, rear cross traffic alert and braking, and a 360-degree camera system.
GWM is offering introductory financing rates from 0.08% through participating banks and RM5,000 trade-in support.
The ownership package includes five years of complimentary maintenance covering parts and labour, a six-year unlimited-mileage vehicle warranty and eight-year/180,000km coverage for the high-voltage battery, electric drive motor and motor control unit.
Buyers also receive five years of complimentary vehicle telematics services.
GWM Malaysia said it has delivered 2,000 WEY G9 Hi4 PHEVs nationwide since the model’s introduction.
The company also claims the WEY G9 is Malaysia’s best-selling luxury MPV in 2026, based on registration data for models priced above RM200,000.
