The Leapmotor C10, an all-electric D-SUV, earned a prestigious five-star rating under the Euro NCAP safety program, confirming its strong market entry in Europe. This milestone highlights the success of the 51:49 joint venture between Stellantis and Leapmotor, aimed at accelerating sales of affordable, high-tech vehicles beyond China by leveraging Stellantis’ global reach.
The C10 achieved impressive safety scores: 89% for adult occupant protection, 85% for child protection, 77% for vulnerable road users, and 76% for driving assistance technologies. These results underscore the vehicle’s careful engineering, including its high-strength structure designed to absorb collision energy effectively. The chassis materials optimize both safety and performance, while a comprehensive airbag system—featuring front, side, curtain, and center airbags—bolsters passive protection.
The advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) includes 17 functions such as automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping, blind-spot detection, and adaptive cruise control. These systems are powered by Leapmotor’s proprietary “Four-Leaf Clover” centralized computing architecture, which integrates intelligent driving, cockpit, power, and body domains into a high-performance system with low latency and efficient communication.
Additional safety features include an electronic stability program (ESP), which enhances control during slippery or emergency conditions, working in tandem with ABS and traction control. The vehicle also offers a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) to prevent accidents caused by tire issues, high-brightness LED headlights for optimal visibility, and a 360-degree camera with rear parking sensors to improve maneuverability.
The C10 is on sale in Malaysia.
