Bentley Motors today extended its electrification timeline under its updated “Beyond100+” strategy, shifting its target for an all-electric lineup from 2030 to 2035.
The British luxury automaker will unveil its first fully electric model in 2026 — a “Luxury Urban SUV” that aims to establish a new segment.
The revised plan includes launching either a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) or battery electric vehicle (BEV) annually over the next decade.
Bentley’s current lineup, including the Continental GT and Flying Spur, now exclusively features a high-performance V8 hybrid powertrain, following the discontinuation of its iconic W12 engine after over two decades.
CEO Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser told dpa that the updated strategy reflects changing market dynamics and legislative pressures, aiming to attract both new and existing customers with modern, sustainable offerings.
He expressed optimism that increasing BEV acceptance would align with Bentley’s product rollout by 2026-2027.
Bentley’s ambitious plan also includes significant upgrades to its historic Crewe facility, with investments in a new design center, paint shop, and BEV assembly line.
This transformation is part of Bentley’s effort to create a “Dream Factory” for electric vehicles, ensuring a sustainable future for the brand and its workforce.
