Big day today for the Proton e.MAS 7. The national carmaker has decided to show off the interior of its first electric vehicle, give a ballpark pricing and open bookings.

This unveiling marks a significant milestone for Malaysia’s automotive industry as the vehicle tour, which has already covered over 3,200km, across the nation, moves into its next phase.

In addition to opening bookings, Pro-Net announced an estimated price of RM 120,000 for the e.MAS 7 and introduced a special early bird offer for initial buyers.

Known as the “Pioneer Privilege Deal”, the offer includes a RM 500 rebate and a Pioneer Gift Pack valued at RM 1,000, providing added incentives to early adopters until the grand launch.

To enhance the customer experience, Proton also launched the e.MAS App. The app allows users to manage bookings, schedule service appointments, and access Malaysia’s growing EV charging network, which will be expanded progressively to support EV adoption.

SPECIFICATIONS

Based on the Geely Galaxy E5, the e.MAS 7 showcases a modern, aerodynamic design with features such as 19-inch alloy wheels, concealed door handles, and a full-length 3D LED taillight.

Slightly bigger than the BYD Atto 3 rival, the vehicle is powered by a 12-in-1 electric motor producing 160 kW and 320 Nm of torque. This setup enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in just 6.9 seconds.

Two versions are offered namely Prime and Premium, with different LFP battery capacity, range and different DC charging capability.

The Prime is the one with estimated price announced and gets a 49.52kWh battery that’s good for 345km (WLTP). The Premium is fitted with a 60.22kWh battery that offers 410km of range.

DC charging time from 30% to 80% for both versions are the same at 20 minutes. The Prime can be charged at up to 80kW, while the Premium suppports up to 100kW.

The e.MAS 7’s focus on safety is reinforced by the inclusion of an Aegis Short Blade Battery and a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), providing high safety and driving assistance features.

The ADAS integrates multiple safety components, aligning with international benchmarks for driver and passenger protection.

Inside, the e.MAS 7 offers a spacious cabin supported by a 2,750 mm wheelbase, creating a comfortable environment for drivers and passengers.

The interior combines practical storage solutions with connectivity features aimed at a modern user experience. Notably, the vehicle includes a high-end Flyme Sound System with 16 speakers, delivering a high-fidelity audio experience suitable for audiophiles.

Excitement is building as the official launch of Proton’s first electric vehicle approaches in December.

The e.MAS 7 tour is now entering its fourth phase, covering central regions, including Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.

Potential buyers and fans can follow the tour through e.MAS’s social media channels for real-time updates on specific tour stops and schedules, providing convenient opportunities to view the vehicle across various locations.

The e.MAS 7 is on public display this weekend at the Auto Car Expo held at the Setia City Convention Centre in Shah Alam.

The e.MAS 7 will be distributed by Pro-Net Sdn Bhd, a Proton subidiary, that is also in charge of Smart EV distribution in Malaysia and Thailand.
