MyJPJ application users will certainly heave a sigh of relief now that the government has put off the requirement to have a MyDigital ID account before they can access MyJPJ.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke clarified that users can continue using the MyJPJ app without logging in through MyDigital ID after Oct 10.
A previous pop-up notice suggesting that MyDigital ID was needed was not an official statement, and Loke has ordered its removal.
Loke pointed out that while integration between MyDigital ID and MyJPJ is supported, it must be carried out smoothly.
Acknowledging public concerns raised on social media, Loke reassured the public that they can continue to use MyJPJ as usual. The app has attracted over 10.5 million active users to date.
Loke also said the integration of both systems would occur gradually and would take time. The clarification came after some users experienced errors when attempting to register for MyDigital ID earlier.
MyJPJ application, developed by the Road Transport Department (JPJ), offers a range of digital services to motorists such as storing digital driving licence and a vehicle’s road tax.
