MG has teased a new pure-electric saloon, releasing a single shadowy image that points to a coupe-style silhouette, semi-hidden door handles and a roof-mounted lidar sensor.
Beyond the Jan 28 teaser, MG did not name the model or publish specifications, range, pricing or a launch timeline. It also did not confirm whether the car will reach production.
Chinese media outlet IT Home said the outline looks similar to the petrol-powered MG7, and suggested it could be a battery-electric offshoot, though there is no official confirmation of any direct link.
The teaser surfaced shortly after SAIC MG rolled out the 2026 MG7 in China.
IT Home said the car’s estimated pricing could be 137,900–178,900 yuan (RM78,000-RM102,000), alongside a limited-time subsidised range of 116,900–154,900 yuan (RM67,000-RM88,000).
Power comes from either a 1.5-litre turbo (188hp, 300Nm) paired with a seven-speed wet dual-clutch, or a 2.0-litre turbo (261hp/192kW, 405Nm) matched to a nine-speed automatic.
