Leapmotor Malaysia has handed over two units of its all-electric C10 to the Ministry of Transport for a three-month testing and operational evaluation programme.
The pilot supports Malaysia’s Low Carbon Mobility Blueprint (2021–2030), which targets lower greenhouse-gas emissions, better energy efficiency and wider electric-vehicle take-up.
Under the programme, the ministry would assess real-world performance, practicality and fleet readiness of EVs in local operating conditions.
Findings are expected to inform national charging-infrastructure planning and guide policies to accelerate adoption across public agencies and private fleets.
Key additions to the 2025 C10 include a 32-litre front trunk (“frunk”) and a boot tonneau cover for secure cargo storage. Charging times have been cut significantly thanks to an upgraded 11 kW on-board charger, which cuts AC recharging from 30–80 per cent down to four hours from six. The SUV is priced at RM125,000.
