Hyundai Mobis is doing something that will make head-up displays so yesteryear.
It wants to make the whole windscreen a display surface.
The Hyundai Motor subsidiary will showcase its new “Holographic Windshield Display” at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025, a first-of-its-kind augmented reality system designed to enhance driving visibility by projecting key information across the entire windshield. CES 2025 is taking place in Las Vegas from Jan 7-10.
The display delivers navigation, infotainment, and safety alerts in a panoramic, immersive format that spans from the driver’s seat to the passenger side.
Developed in collaboration with German optics company ZEISS, the system integrates specialised optical film to maintain an open, spacious feel while improving safety.
The technology will debut in the Kia EV9 at CES, with mass production planned for 2027.
Hyundai Mobis will also present its “Human-Centric Interior Lighting” an adaptive system offering 32 situational modes. These features include stress reduction, motion sickness alleviation, and UV-C sterilisation, adjusting lighting dynamically to biological rhythms and environmental conditions.
Another key highlight is “M.Brain”, Hyundai Mobis’ brainwave-based technology that monitors driver attention in real-time. By analysing brainwave data, M.Brain provides alerts to combat drowsiness or inattention. Live demonstrations at CES will offer visitors firsthand experience with its capabilities.
CES 2025 will mark Hyundai Mobis’ 10th year at the event, showcasing its advancements in mobility and production-ready technologies.
