BYD Sime Motors has delivered more than 100 units of the new BYD Seal 6 across Malaysia within a week of the model’s local debut, with the first batch already reaching customers.
The distributor said units were dispatched to showrooms in Peninsular and East Malaysia to support immediate test drives and handovers.
The company marked the milestone with an Oct 6 statement, adding that Malaysia is the first international market to receive the Seal 6.
BYD Sime Motors said the rapid rollout was proof of delivery readiness and a signal of strong demand for the C-segment electric sedan.
The Seal 6 arrives in three colours — Arctic White, Harbour Grey and Misty Blue — and is positioned to broaden BYD’s EV line-up alongside the Atto 3 and Dolphin.
As part of its wider expansion, the distributor plans to grow its network from 37 to 50 outlets by 2026, citing the need to strengthen access to sales, service and charging. The company said the Seal 6 forms a “significant step” in advancing Malaysia’s EV landscape.
Headline product notes highlighted by BYD include rear-wheel drive, a dual ball-joint MacPherson front suspension with a multi-link rear, and a tight 5.5-metre turning radius.
The company lists 24 storage compartments and a combined cargo capacity of 525 litres, with a quoted system output of 160 kW and 0–100 kph in 7.5 seconds. These claims are presented as “best in class” features for a C-segment saloon.
Warranty coverage is stated at six years/150,000km for the vehicle, eight years/160,000km for the drive unit and eight years/160,000km for the Blade battery.
BYD Sime Motors also announced an introductory package for early customers, along with standard items such as a V2L adapter and a Type 2 charging cable.
