The G6, now open for booking, is available in two variants: the 580 Pro and the 755 Pro. They are also marketed in Malaysia as the Standard Range and Long Range respectively.

Pricing starts at RM165,820 (OTR without insurance) for the 580 Pro and RM185,820 for the 755 Pro variant. Both have a single electric motor in the back axle for a rear-wheel drive setup.

As the sole distributor, Bermaz XPeng Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Bermaz Auto Berhad, will manage sales and distribution, while Prima Maju Auto Sdn Bhd is the exclusive importer.

The G6 shape bears some resemblance to the Tesla  Model Y, which it competes directly against. With its lower prices and feature set, the G6 is set to give the Model Y a run for the money.

The 580 Pro is equipped with a 66 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, delivering a range of up to 435km (WLTP), 255hp, and 440Nm of torque, with a top speed of 200kph and acceleration from 0 to 100kph in 6.6 seconds.

The 755 Pro variant features an 87.5 kWh Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) battery, providing a longer range of up to 570km, 282hp and the same torque, with slightly quicker acceleration at 6.2 seconds for 0 to 100kph.

The G6, introduced at the Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition in April 2023, is a mid-size crossover SUV built on XPeng’s latest SEPA 2.0 (Smart Electric Platform Architecture 2.0) platform, which features an 800-volt architecture.

This platform enhances XPeng’s ability to meet diverse consumer needs by improving research and development efficiency and cost optimisation. The G6 is the first production model on this platform, emphasising advanced technology, comfort, and performance.

Both variants support superfast DC charging, with the 580 Pro capable of 215 kW and the 755 Pro at 280 kW.

Charging from 10% to 80% takes around 20 minutes for both variants.

With an 11 kW AC charger, the 580 Pro can be fully charged from 5% to 100% in 7.5 hours, while the 755 Pro requires 9.5 hours for a full charge.

The G6 is also equipped with a robust thermal management system and energy-saving features that optimise its range and charging efficiency.

Safety is a key focus of the G6, which includes standard features like seven airbags and an electronic child lock.

The advanced XPilot 2.5 driver assistance system enhances safety with features such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Centering Control (LCC), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), and a 360° HD camera system powered by the Nvidia Orin-X chipset.

This system also includes functions like Auto Exit Parking Assist (AEP) and Straight Summon via the XPeng mobile app.

The G6’s design emphasises a dynamic, low centre of gravity for improved handling and aerodynamics.

Its exterior features a sleek, tech-fluid aesthetic, with short front and rear overhangs and a suspended roof design that maximizes interior space.

The cabin offers spacious seating with eco-friendly materials, dual wireless charging pads, a high-efficiency air purification system, and advanced infotainment through the Xmart OS 5.0 operating system, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon SA8155P chipset.

The system includes a 14.96-inch central control screen, a 10.2-inch digital dashboard, and a 960W, 18-speaker XOpera surround audio system for an immersive sound experience.

The XPeng G6 comes fully imported from China and is available in five exterior colours: Midnight Black, Silver Frost, Artie White, Graphite Gray, and Fiery Orange.

Interior options include Black and Grey leatherette.

The G6 is offered with a 5-year manufacturer warranty (or 120,000 km) and an 8-year warranty for the high-voltage battery pack (or 160,000 km).
