ALERT: A little bird says Roslan has moved to another car company. Let’s wait for the official announcement.
Proton released a statement late today, saying Roslan Abdullah is departing as its deputy chief executive officer.
Ainol Azmil (pic above) has been picked as covering deputy chief executive officer. He assumes the post next month, and will continue in his current job in corporate strategy and group technical procurement. He is stepping in to carry out the new temporary responsibilities without a formal title.
Ainol will report to Proton chief executive officer Dr Li Chunrong.

The surprise announcement in a terse statement raises more questions than it answers. Proton is likely to be prodded by the media in the coming days to offer more explanation of what’s going on behind the scenes.
It is not known at this point if Roslan will remain as Proton Edar chief executive officer or relinquish the distributor post as well. Tiencars will update this story when new details emerge.
Roslan had served as deputy chief executive officer for five years. During his tenure, he had helped Proton reinforced its position as a prominent brand in Malaysia while also entering the EV market with its first product, the e.MAS 7.
