Omoda & Jaecoo will demonstrate a solar-powered electric vehicle charging facility equipped with vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology at its 2026 International User Summit in Wuhu, China, from Oct 19 to 23.
The smart energy centre combines solar panels, battery storage and EV charging infrastructure into a local microgrid, supported by artificial intelligence to manage electricity generation, storage and distribution.
According to the company, the facility is a pioneering large-scale alternating current (AC) V2G demonstration station capable of supporting megawatt-level ultra-fast charging.
V2G technology enables compatible EVs to function as mobile energy storage units, drawing electricity during off-peak hours and supplying it back to the grid when demand increases.
This could help owners reduce electricity costs while supporting grid stability. Bidirectional charging also offers the potential to power homes during outages, subject to compatible equipment and infrastructure.
The centre incorporates Omoda & Jaecoo’s Volt-dragon Charger technology, designed to shorten charging times. It can also operate independently of the main electricity grid, allowing charging operations to continue during power disruptions.
However, the company has not disclosed specific charging outputs, charging times or compatible production vehicles.
Omoda & Jaecoo will also highlight its Energy Cube residential energy storage system, which integrates rooftop solar generation, battery storage and bidirectional charging.
The system is intended to help households maximise self-generated electricity and reduce dependence on grid power.
More than 2,000 international guests and users are expected at the summit, where the company would show off how renewable energy and intelligent power management can support future EV charging infrastructure.
