Here comes another electric car. SAIC Motor Malaysia today announced that bookings are now open for the MG Cyberster, the brand’s first all-electric roadster with an estimated price below RM350,000.
The Cyberster features distinctive scissor doors and will make its first public debut at the Auto Car Expo 2024.
The MG Cyberster roadster, available in a single high-performance variant, features a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup generating 503 PS (375 kW) and 725Nm of torque.
Equipped with a 77 kWh battery, the Cyberster accelerates from 0 to 100 kph in 3.2 seconds and achieves a WLTP-certified range of 446km.
Charging options include a 7 kW AC charger that recharges from 10% to full in 10.5 hours, while a 150 kW DC fast charger enables a 10% to 80% charge in 38 minutes.
Designed with a broad, low profile, the Cyberster includes a retractable soft top, frameless scissor doors, and 20-inch Jetstream alloy wheels with red calipers. Automatic LED headlights and DRLs improve visibility.
Inside, the Cyberster offers leather sports seats with Alcantara inserts, a Nappa leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a comprehensive infotainment setup, including a 10.25-inch driver display, a 7-inch central touch screen, and two 7-inch auxiliary screens, alongside an 8-speaker Bose audio system.
Safety is a focus, featuring MG Pilot’s Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including front collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assistance, and blind spot detection. additional features like lane keeping assistance, rear cross traffic alert, and intelligent high beam assist enhance driver support.
The MG Cyberster is available in four colours—Dynamic Red, Camden Grey, Inca Yellow, and English White—with distinct interior schemes depending on the exterior colour.
The Dynamic Red and Camden Grey options feature black and red interiors, while Inca Yellow and English White come with grey interiors. Each trim is accented with a black bonnet for added style.
At present, three MG models are on sale in Malaysia: the MG5 sedan, MG4 EV and MG ZS EV SUV.
During the expo, the MG HS and MG Cyberster will be available for pre-launch bookings.
The expo will take place from Oct 26-27 at Setia City Convention Centre, Shah Alam.
