Denza, a premium electric vehicle (EV) sub-brand under BYD, has been confirmed for Malaysia.
Sime Darby Auto Imports Sdn. Bhd. has been appointed as the official importer, and BYD Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. as the distributor.
This partnership marks Denza’s entry into the Malaysian market, expanding Sime Darby Motors’ relationship with BYD, following the success of its BYD franchise.
A signing ceremony was held in Petaling Jaya, attended by key officials including BYD’s Asia-Pacific general manager Liu Xueliang, Sime Darby Auto Imports managing director Harun Mohd Joned and BYD Malaysia managing director Eagle Zhao.
The introduction of Denza aims to offer a premium, luxury EV experience to Malaysian consumers. Denza’s focus will be on combining cutting-edge technology and sustainability, contributing to the expanding EV market in Malaysia. This move aligns with BYD’s mission to make EVs more accessible, while offering high-end options for consumers looking for a luxury driving experience.
The latest deal is expected to strengthen BYD’s presence in Malaysia and expand its portfolio of electric vehicles.
This partnership continues Sime Darby’s expansion into the EV market, building on its role as the official distributor of BYD passenger electric vehicles from December 2022.
