The new Lancia Ypsilon line-up is offered with three new trims: the Ypsilon, targeting younger customers; the high-spec Ypsilon LX; and the Ypsilon Edizione Cassina, focused on comfort.
All trims are available in hybrid or all-electric forms.
As a B-segment premium hatchback designed as a city car, it boasts features such as an advanced exterior lighting system, parking assist, dual 10.25” display, and Level 2 autonomous driving.
Initially launching in Italy, the model will expand to Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Spain, France, and Germany by 2025, supported by over 70 new dealers in major European cities.
Lancia plans to release two more models: the Gamma in 2026 and the Delta in 2028. The electric Ypsilon, backed by Free2move Charge, offers easy charging solutions at home and public locations across Europe.
Lancia CEO Luca Napolitano said that under the company’s “Renaissance Plan”, the new Ypsilon is being marketed as having a blend of Italian elegance, advanced technology, electrification, and timeless style. The model also offers driving pleasure, comfort, intuitive technology, and best-in-class electric performance, he said.
The Ypsilon is built on the Common Modular Platform suitable for both electric and hybrid engines. Focus areas include onboard well-being, sound quality, production quality, and driving pleasure, with enhancements like soundproofing and improved steering and suspension for better handling.
Technologically, the model includes the S.A.L.A. system (Sound Air Light Augmentation), integrating audio, climate control, and lighting for a personalised driving environment. Additional features include keyless entry, parking assist, dual screen displays, wireless phone charging, and Level 2 Autonomous Driving.
The electric version, featuring a 156-hp motor and 51-kWh battery, offers a range of up to 403 km and fast charging capabilities. The hybrid version, with a 1.2L engine and 48V technology, provides efficient performance and low emissions.
TheYpsilon’s design recalls Lancia’s historic elements with modern touches, featuring the iconic ‘chalice’ grille and LED lighting inspired by past models.
The interiors, designed in collaboration with Cassina, emphasise comfort and sustainability with eco-friendly materials and a multifunctional table.
The colour palette includes six shades and two-tone options, highlighting the brand’s Italian heritage and premium positioning.
