tiencars.com or simply tiencars is a news site that tracks the growth of electric cars in Malaysia and around the world. Whether spoken in Mandarin or Hokkien, ‘tien’ means ‘electric’ in the Chinese lingo, hence the name of this site.
tiencars enters the scene at a time when electric mobility is still in its nascent form in Malaysia but it looks set to grow in importance with each passing year. Founded by an auto enthusiast with a vantage point on the industry, tiencars aims to cover the ups and downs of the EV journey in an industry that is undergoing a seismic change and is set to alter the nature of mobility.
Whether the internal combustion engine will be supplanted by electric motors, hybrids or other forms of powertrains remains a big question mark at this point. They might even co-exist together in a future scenario.
