In-car gaming headlines Porsche’s latest update to the all-electric Macan, with new titles from Gameloft and Obscure Interactive joining AirConsole in the App Center.
Games can be controlled via the touchscreen, a Bluetooth controller or a smartphone.
The optional passenger display allows simultaneous use while driving without distracting the driver, and Bluetooth headsets enable private audio.
Porsche is broadening digital features and access. The Porsche Digital Key now works with iPhone, Apple Watch and compatible Android devices using NFC, Bluetooth Low Energy and Ultra-Wideband.
Owners can unlock, lock and start the vehicle without removing a device from a pocket, share keys with up to seven users, and open the boot.
The My Porsche app can control the front and rear luggage compartments when equipped with Porsche Connect.
Parking assistance gains several upgrades. The Surround View system with Active Parking Support provides a 360-degree and cross-traffic view and can take over steering and fore-aft movements for parallel or perpendicular spaces.
A Transparent Bonnet view stitches feeds from the front and mirror cameras to reveal obstacles below the driver’s line of sight, aiding tight manoeuvres or rough ground.
Trained Parking learns up to five routine manoeuvres after one manual run, such as a home garage approach, and can reproduce them automatically with driver supervision.
Reversing Assist retraces a previously driven forward path of up to 50 metres for safer automated reversing in narrow driveways or winding car parks.
Charging and trip planning are refined. The Porsche Charging Planner has been optimised so drivers can prioritise or exclude specific charging stations and providers when plotting routes.
Practicality also improves, with maximum towing capacity for all all-wheel-drive variants rising by 500kg to 2,500kg. Depending on market rules, the increase can be enabled retrospectively for cars already delivered.
Voice interaction becomes more capable with the latest Voice Pilot. Drawing on multiple language models, the assistant handles complex, contextual queries and serves as an on-board manual for feature explanations via voice alone. Additional personalisation options include new door-sill treatments and LED courtesy light projections.
The updated Macan will be rolled out by the end of the year, with the first market changeover in Germany beginning in autumn.
